Grid Headroom: Terms of Service
1. What you get
Grid Headroom provides programmatic access to indicative UK distribution-network capacity and substation headroom data aggregated from third-party Distribution Network Operator (DNO) publications. Launch coverage is regional (not full UK DNO coverage). Query speed is not data currency: source feeds refresh monthly at best; we do not describe the data as “live” or “real-time”.
2. AS-IS / best effort: no warranties
Self-serve service (£0 / £99 / £399 tiers) is provided as-is and best effort. We give no warranties, express or implied, including as to uptime, completeness, accuracy, merchantability, or fitness for any particular purpose. Target availability language, where stated, is “99.0% target availability (best effort)”, not a binding SLA and not service credits.
3. Not a connection offer
Informational metric only. Does not constitute a formal Point of Connection offer. Capacity figures are indicative aggregations of DNO publications. Upstream errors, gaps, licence refusals, and unpublished values flow through. Decisions about site viability, investment, or DNO applications remain yours.
4. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we accept no contractual liability for decisions made on API output, for DNO or NESO upstream errors, or for downtime on self-serve tiers. Enterprise (£999+) terms may differ if separately negotiated; that does not create self-serve entitlements by analogy.
5. Your responsibilities
- Keep API keys secret; you are responsible for use under your key.
- Respect volume / capability limits of your tier.
- Do not present our output as a formal Point of Connection (PoC) offer, budget estimate, or substitute for DNO advice.
- Manage billing (cancel, update card) via the Stripe Customer Portal when offered.
6. Payments
Paid self-serve tiers are billed via Stripe subscriptions. While the product is in early access, Checkout is operated in Stripe test mode only and does not imply general availability. Collecting a test payment does not imply warranties beyond this posture. Failed payments may suspend or revoke API keys after a grace period configured in our systems and Stripe dunning.
7. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, policies, and related notices from time to time. We will give notice of material changes by posting an updated version here and, where practical, via the product or email when that channel exists. By continuing to use the service after an update is posted, you accept the revised terms, unless a later solicitor-reviewed agreement says otherwise. A solicitor-reviewed version will replace this page before live charges (H-2).
